The Mühlbauer Group, a worldwide one-stop-shop technology partner for turnkey solutions and embedded software, presents its latest innovations at its booth 4M056 at CARTES & IDentification 2008 in Paris. Clients and interested people will get a deep insight in a unique portfolio in the areas of Smart Card, ePassport and RFID technology.

The CARTES & IDentification is the world’s most famous event of the year in the chip card business. Thus, it’s the optimum location to launch our new card personalization line GSM 5000, the highly cost-efficient system for the personalization of GSM/UMTS and Pay-TV cards. Developed especially for these applications, the GSM 5000 is equipped with 32 parallely arranged chip encoding/initialization stations, a high speed fibre laser engraving unit as well as a vision/verification module. This standardized setup ensures highest effectiveness and a best cost/card ratio. Due to its fully automated card feeding and output stations with a capacity of 4,500 cards each, the GSM 5000 reaches outstanding autonomy times with a maximum throughput of 5,000 cards/hour.

Beneath the GSM 5000 Mühlbauer presents further highlights out of its product portfolio live at the show, starting with data enrollment, document management and PKI over a combined solution for card milling and implanting to EMV card and ePassport personalization systems. Visitors get additionally informed about the latest solution for producing and converting of RFID inlays.

The CMI 200 is Mühlbauer’s new system for combined milling and implanting of Smart Cards in a very cost-effective way. Due to its standardized setup and the production in high lots this system reaches best cost/card values for standard Smart Card applications.

The SCOPE 5400 is the already worldwide proven solution for the personalization of banking cards such as debit, credit or EMV. It’s highly sophisticated dye sublimation printing units, realizing individual edge-to-edge full-colored printing, the unique matrix embossing module with unicode and country-specific characters and a variety of optionally integratable process modules make this solution best-fitting to meet the demands of the finance markets.

Referencing to the current ePassport market, Mühlbauer displays its laser and inkjet desktop personalization solutions IDENTIFIER 50 and IDENTIFIER 54 as well as the security foil lamination system DLS 50. Clients at the booth get their own ePassport within minutes, captured with the new, re-designed data capturing suitcase getID MOBILE that runs the in-house developed data enrollment software Mühlbauer getID LIVE, which includes a unique picture enhancement module for ICAO compliant images.

The complete personalization machinery on the booth is handled by a control center. Enrolled data are collected by the data enrollment online server Mühlbauer getID DEOS, verified by the secure document management system Mühlbauer SDM as well as digitally signed and encrpyted with the PKI solution Mühlbauer TRUST, before the integrated personalization and production management system Mühlbauer INCAPE transfers them to the single machines, where the open universal personalization platform Mühlbauer MCES allocates the data sets to the specific process stations.

With this setup a complete Government ID project process is simulated, from the enrollment to the verification of the produced document. Visitors at the booth get a deep insight in the world of Smart Card, ePassport and RFID applications
